Board of Trustees

This student sits as a voting member with the other university Board of Trustees and is appointed by the governor to a one year term, from June to June. Serving as the student trustee is a unique opportunity. The Board of Trustees is the governing board of the university, therefore this position is highly important for students on this campus

 

Higgins is a senior at Western pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology with a minor in Supply Chain Management and Environmental Policy. Higgins brings to her appointment as a trustee leadership qualities developed as founder and president of the WWU Bad Manners Club, Treasurer of the WWU Chapter of Engineers Without Borders, participation in the School for International Training’s Iceland Program on Renewable Technologies and Resource Economics. Higgins has been active on campus and served as a student representative on the 2008 Presidential Search Advisory Committee.
