Sarah Tran for VP of Diversity
Throughout my life, many experiences have shown me how much we fear difference. Whether working in domestic violence services, with youth, or as one of the Coordinators of the Social Issues Resource Center, this issue has only become more apparent. To me, diversity is truly about differences of all kinds. It is this diversity that makes our community stronger. In order for all of us to thrive in the environment we are in, we need to be understood and accepted. I plan to help create that environment at Western by:
- Creating clear channels for students to address issues of intolerance and discrimination.
- Making the entire campus into a “safe space” for all marginalized and underrepresented groups by increasing multicultural education and events.
