Nina Lau

I am friendly, dynamic and a go-getter. Most importantly, I believe everyone deserves an opportunity and I have persevering faith in what individuals can accomplish. My leadership experience throughout high school has instilled a love and enthusiasm for inspiring people. My interests have always been with working with others and my ambition is to become a teacher through Woodring College of Education. Currently, my passions include new experiences, deep conversation, leadership and helping others reach their fullest potential.

This year I plan to:

  • Encourage involvement and awareness around campus by implementing an internship (or a club) that would allow students to really get to know the AS on a more personal level. The internship could be for anybody and everybody but most likely, it would be of interest to anyone who wanted to run for candidacy in following years.
  • Increase safety on campus by looking at the possibility of installing more emergency "blue" phones and making it a priority to fix the broken ones.
  • Place more recycling bins around campus, especially in high traffic areas like Red Square & the Atrium.
  • Re-look at the wireless on campus and see what can be done about the possibility of extending it to dorms.
  • Continue outreach by making myself and the other officers readily available through extension of office hours, forums and/or events.

Please feel free to e-mail me with your thoughts, ideas, and/or comments - I'm not one to get offended easily. Whether it's good or bad or whether you support me or not - thank you for taking your time to get to know me!
